No More

A Poem by Ian Faraway

Take this, my fragile heart
Beating erratically against my chest
Covered in blood and bruises
From all the times I've loved
"Love"
I shudder at such a cruel thing
Something so beautiful, so destructive
Should I carve the names of those responsible
Onto the wall of my heart's chamber?
Among those listed shall be my name
For I was foolish enough to hand you over
My heart, my vulnerable friend
No more shall people harm you
While you have nothing but good intent
Go now, my restless friend
Sleep until the pain is gone
Sleep until forever ends
For neither you nor I can love
No more

I really like this. It shows that while love is beautiful, it is also one of the most destructive things a person can do. The formatting is really easy and simple. My only suggestion is how each line is capitalized. It really distracts the reader but other than that it is very well-written.

I am afraid to give a comment saying this is good because you note it. But anyway . I'll say that this a perfect poem, no aspects to be changed.
