I Wish

I Wish

A Poem by Ian Faraway

I wish
I could write
In such a way that leaves the audience
Angry that my piece had an ending

Every word
Every sentence
Would paint a picture in their minds
As if they were there in my little world

Every heart throbbing emotion
Would tear through the reader
Making them tear with sadness
Or cry out in joy of my character

I wish
I could speak
The same way I wish I could write
In the essence of power and fluency

Every word
Every sentence
Flows without the slightest hesitation
And with meaning behind every syllable

Every person turning their heads
So their ears can listen to my words
Written or spoken, I wish I had both
So my words can never be misused

Would paint a vivid picture in their minds
As if they were there in my written world

Here I would take out the vivid, or even put "Paint their minds vivid" just because I think the reader already knows you want to do that, as a writer. Also, written world, written it seems is not necessary.

I love the first stanza.

This is awesome - It is a contradiction of what you wrote - I like the idea of wanting to ccaptue the audience because I really think that that is the point of sharing work. . . can"t wait to read more - thanks for the good read

This is filled with a longing to find that voice within your soul...
It's there, I promise... all you have to do is listen...

Well expressed, Ian!~xoxo~:)
