I Must Admit

I Must Admit

A Poem by Ian Faraway

I must admit
That I am scared
Of the eerie silence
That echoes in the darkness
Of my house

Does it matter
That my heart races
More with the silence
Making the darkness seem bigger
In my mind

I must admit
That I see things
That leaves me unsure
If I actually saw anything at all
In the night

Shadows will crawl
Along the walls
Keeping with me
As I feel my way around
In the dark

I must admit
That I'm paranoid
Of what I "don't" see
And things I "don't" hear
All around me

Is it imagination
That my mind created
As some sick, perverted joke
Or is it real
When shadows crawl

Author's Note

Ian Faraway
I wrote this out in my mind but, however, it didn't really come out the way I expected it to so I'm calling this a rough draft until I find a way to reword it. Let me know what you think!

The mind can play terrible tricks on us. If we work ourselves up enough, shadows are waiting for us around each corner of our home.

So I think everyone who takes a while to far asleep at night has felt this. Me included. This is very unsettling seeing as how I am about to go to bed but hey! That means you did a good job.
This is wonderful!
