Pessimistic About ThisA Poem by Ian FarawayIt's so loud inside of my head
As I run through what we are and can be When I lay down on my cold bed Everyone's doubts and logic clouds my hopes "It's not pessimistic, it's just realistic" They said I don't know, maybe they had a point Maybe I'll get a broken and bruised heart instead When you leave and find someone better All I really know is that you make my face all red And it feels like this is all a dream Or an intense fairy tale I never read I'm still wondering what you see in me When you can have any guy your heart desires Maybe one like me just more sexy And knows what the hell he's doing Making your heart flip and flop with glee So pretty much anyone other than me Because you're just too good to be true, see? All I dream of is holding you and making you laugh While watching a sunset underneath a cherry tree All I know is that you make me want to be better But that would mean setting my protected heart free What goes through your beautiful mind? Do you see the love you want in me By the heart where your name might be signed? Because if you do, you already know how I feel Or maybe you don't because words are hard to find If you have the potential to love me as I do you Then I will wait and work for our paths to be combined I think these are the words I can't say aloud Since you're special to me and one of a kind And I'm a "realist" and you're not mine I just don't want to be left behind © 2013 Ian FarawayReviews
