As I Do You

As I Do You

A Poem by Ian Faraway

I am but a fragment
Among the millions
That create your memories
But I wonder if
You'll hold this fragment close
To your heart and love it
As I do you

I am but a stranger
Among the thousands
That you've seen thus far
But I wonder if
You'll remember this face
Over the rest of them
As I do you

I am but a broken man
Among the hundreds
That are whole
But I wonder if
You'll fix what once was
And see the beauty beneath
As I do you

I am but a shadow
In a darkened cell
That awaits for your love
But I wonder if
You'd hold up a light
And see my burning love
As I do you

Now let me just say, that was really beautiful. The poem flowed together so nicely. The idea...nothing was compromised and i could really relate. Great write and well done.
