The Curse Of AgingA Poem by Ian FarawayIt's so bitter sweetWith each year's end One tends to reflect On all the events that have transpired The people that have come The ones that have left A combination of relationships is an ocean Some people make waves Only a few make tsunamis The special ones that will change The landscape that is your life The sad thing about aging Is you'll see many people Fade away in time's hour glass Leaving nothing but memories Imprinted on your heart forever But that's the meaning of life It isn't about tomorrow But what has already happened The building blocks of life That has already been placed That's the catch, isn't it? Left to continue on life's path With the past's shadow following close Good and bad memories tasting bitter sweet Only to picture the hope of tomorrow It's just life's little joke That we can only acknowledge with a weary glare But we will play its twisted game Because we don't have a choice It's the curse of aging © 2013 Ian FarawayReviews
