Try Hard

Try Hard

A Poem by Ian Faraway
"

Ones fails. One rises just to fail again.

"
I've been known as many names
Smarty
Smart a*s
But above all
I've been called a try hard

I remember when I was little
Acing the tests in honor class
Without breaking a sweat
And still goof with my friends
And get in trouble with the teacher

But then I fell from my throne
My goals
My life
My achievements
All taken away from me

It tools years to rebuild what was left
Years of blood, sweat and tears
To build up what would never be as good
As it once was when I was little
I tried with all my might

Finally made something of nothing
Made a big house from a scrap shack
It wasn't a mansion as it once was
But I did what I could
What I did clearly wasn't enough

For I failed again
Fallen from my cushioned high chair
Into a pile of despair and shame
Why should I try again?
When all I seem to do is fail as soon as I succeed
