Do You CareA Poem by Ian FarawayToday's generation is messed up
Do you care
That our generation is gone They don't know what is right And mistake them for the wrong Where is all the moral fiber That once made us so strong? I can't make it Through a single damn day Without seeing someone's personality Start to crumble and decay It's like we're so self absorbed That we start to whither and fade away Should you care That there is beauty inside A spark of longing Unseen by the naked eye In the homeless, the poor, and elders Is being selfish the only way to get by? Take a few deep breaths And just think this through Because doing the wrong thing Will affect someone else's life too But before you think of "personal appearance" Remember; I'm here to help you I care About you, her, him, them, us I care about the future generations Being thrown underneath a bus The problem is that we don't care And the qualities that make us human are turning to rust Do you care? © 2012 Ian Faraway |
