Inhaling Dirt

Living within a darkness in your mind.

Drowning in a sea of demons
Endlessly flooding the mind
Free falling into a black abyss, bottomless
A sense of self entirely lost
Alive but barely breathing
Breathing but not truly alive
A slow descent, rapidly gaining speed
Losing your hold
Losing control
Losing your mind
Losing yourself
Until everything is simply lost
Not knowing up from down, left from right
Which way is forward, which way is back
No sense of anything to be found
When words can't be formed,
Cries of help and plea's of need become useless
All hope is abandoned while any light goes unseen
Bound and silenced by darkness
You walk blindly, tripping and stumbling
Out of options and with nothing left
You begin to dig a grave of your own
Piercing the cold, moist earth
Further and further
You dig and deeper it becomes
Going too far and unable to get out
As the ground groans and releases a low sigh
It all begins to crumble and cave around you
Trapped and suffocating
Smothered by a darkness all your own
Finding freedom in death, a final escape
From a hell unseen by the common eye
One that exists only within your very own mind
And forever left to be unknown by all others
