All I ask for is a Friend

This is a lyrical poem which follows the desire and expectations of a person from his friend. It describes that the relationship of a friend is different from all other relationships.

When darkness surrounds me,

When I see no light around me,

When life becomes a living hell,

I look for someone who can assure me that all is well,

Then all I ask for is a friend.

When I loose all my confidence,

When I am stuck in a place surrounded by a fence,

When there is no way to run and hide,

I look for someone who can stand by my side,

Then, all I ask for is a friend.

When there is no fun in life,

I want someone who can make me smile,

Someone who can fill my heart that is hollow,

And from whom happiness I can borrow,

Then all I ask for is a friend.

A person who can vanish my disabilities,

And convert them into my utilities,

A person who never says goodbye,

And stays with me till I die,

Then all I ask for is a friend.
