MY FRIEND

I had to move for some reason, far away from where I was used to. Away from the people who knew me so well. In this new environment I always asked myself if I would be able to fit in or find someone.

You have become my closest friend
yet it's been less than a year
For the little time we spend
I found someone to hold me dear
You always listen to me
in my dark and lonely days
No better person than you could be
such loving in so many ways
You inspire me to be better
an amazing friend in you I found
I could ask for no other
in heaven nor on the ground
I love you more than you can ever know
I will never wish for you to depart
but if it happens you have to go
know you always have a place in my heart
