MY FRIEND IS GONE

I loved this friend as she was closer to me than any one else. I thought our friendship would last but it turns out she had other plans in mind. So painful.

We had so much fun when we were together
We even said we would be best friends forever
Said I loved you over and over
we said we'd overcome the stress together
Football was our passion
We would play even when no one was watching
The kicks and the passes
Were enough to drive away the depression
I introduced you to her
Knowing it was the right thing
Then you two became so close
I knew soon you'd be dating
But there's one thing I didn't know
That cause of her you'd let me go
And cause of her you brushed me off like snow
Even our passion went down
You didn't care if I was around
You even bragged that her love was of more amount
Then I knew I had lost you
The one and only friend whom together we grew
The one who to me was true

i love the emotional tug-a-war this piece has.
the friendship. warmth. wanting the best for the other.
then something you gave them becomes the friendship's undoing.
all while you have to pretend to be happy for them.

i used to be the friend who used to push away their friends, and in the end, i used to be the one who felt abandoned as they used to find themselves closely tied to the other end.
