The King of Darkness

Vaati sees something very strange

When Zant got back to the Dark Realm he headed up the stairs and straight to his bedroom. When he opened the door to his bedroom he saw His brother Vaati and his son Oli standing there. It was weird especially for Zant that his little brother and his eldest son were only 5 months apart from each other. Not only that but those two were like best friends. "What are you doing?" said Zant

Vaati and Oli turned to Zant "It wasn't my idea to come in here it was....OLI'S!" Vaati said

"No it wasn't it was you're idea!" Oli said back at him "Why would I wanna come in my dad's room anyways?!"

"Cause you're a sick little weirdo!" Vaati said as he messed up Oli's hair

"And you're an adopted albino freak! Now both of you get out."

They both headed towards the door. Vaati stopped and looked at Zant "Atleast my wife won't kill herself."

Zant's eyes again turned from a red color to a bright orange. He turned around "You better take that back!"

Vaati shook his head in a "I'm trying to egg you on" fashion

"I'M GONNA KILL YOU!" Zant started to chase after Vaati. "OK I'M SORRY! I'M SORRY! AHHH! MOM! ZANT'S TRYING TO KILL ME AGAIN!"

When Zant got close enough to him he grabbed onto Vaati's cape whiched caused him to fall. Zant picked Vaati up and said "I'M GONNA F**K YOU UP SO BAD!"

Vaati put his hands over his head in fear "Don't kill me I'm sorry!" Zant threw him on the floor and kicked his side. Vaati shouted out in pain. "You're gonna go to hell Vaati! I know you are!" Zant him in head. Down the corridor you could hear a woman shouting "Vaati!" Eventually she got close enough to see who she was. It was Princess Olympia, Vaati and Zant's mother. Zant stopped as soon as he say her.

"Vaati are you ok?" she asked

Vaati sat up. It was apparent he was getting a black eye "No!" Olympia sort of examend Vaati as best as she could. "You're not beat up TOO badly as far as I can see......we should probably get some ice for your eye before it gets too bad." Olympia stood up. "As for you Zant! Stop touching him! He's 14 he says stupid stuff."

"I'm still 14!"

"Zant, no. You need to set an example for these two."

"I wouldn't have such a problem with that if you had let me go to school after I became king cause if you're gonna set that stuff on me then I'm just gonna tell you I'm 14 cause in retrospect I AM!"

"Whatever. C'mon Oli." Olympia, Oli and Vaati walked down the corridor and out of sight. When Zant couldn't see them anymore he took one of the candle holder things on the side of the wall and knocked it off. He ran halfway down the corridor turned to his left and put his hand on the wall and said "Uvlt (open)" and a door that couldn't be seen before was now visible. He ran up the three flights of stairs and when he got to the top there was a litte wooden door on the celing. He pushed it open and climbed through. There were many secret passageways like that. Most of them led up to the turrets on the caslte. This is where Zant went everytime he was mad or upset.

 

 

Later in the evening

 

"Boy's one of you go get you're father and if you're Vaati you're brother." said Olympia

"I vote Jhaykob!" Oli said

"NO! I did it last time! Vaati how bout you do it."

Vaati who had been reading a book put it down and pointed at it "I'm trying to read!"

"Vaati!" Olympia said

"DUDE! I've finally gotten to a good part in it!"

"Vaati I wiil ground you from reading!"

Vaati slammed the book down "Fine!" He got up out of his chair and started walking towards the door. "Moody b***h!" he said under his breath. Vaati walked up to his brothers room "Zanatos!"  He glanced around "OH MY GOD!" He walked out of the room and slammed the door. "I just frikin walked up here for no reason!" He headed back downstairs.

"He wasn't in his room." He said as he sat down in his chair

"Oh well, hopefully he'll have the sense to come get something to eat."

"Or! He could be eating in Subrosia tonight (aka hell)!" Vaati said

Olympia took Vaati's book and hit him on the head "VAATI JHAYMES! WE DON'T SAY THAT!"

"What it's probably true!"

After dinner Vaati went staight up to his room and sat on the window sill of the really big window in his room. Tonight was one of Vaati's favorite nights. It was a full moon. Which to Vaati meant he got to purposly go around and terrorize people. He sat there until the moon was very high in the sky. he laughed. "YES!" He opened to window and stood on the ledge. "Yes people of the night you better be afraid cause Vaati the Wind Mage has come to play!" But right before he jumped out he turned his head to the left and saw a strange turquosie light comming for the turret.

"What the?"

He looked at the moon which turned him into a bat. He flew over there and turned back into a human. He saw Zant lying there motionless.

"ZANT!" He rushed over to Zant's side

 

Meanwhile in Zant's mind

 

Zant was standing on the turret looking up and the sky when an ominous voice said "Hello Zant!" Zant jumped. He pulled out his sword and turned around. "Who's there!"

There was a hooded figure was standing there. It was smiling. "I am the King of Darkness." he replied

Zant looked confused "How could you be the King of Darkness? I'm the King of Darkness I have the crown!"

"Haha." said the King of Darkness "Yes you are but so am I. Don't ask how. Listen I know you're upset with yourself and others and I'm here to help you."

"How?"

He shrugged his shoulders "Tell me what you want the most that is do-able."

Zant thought for a second "I want people to respect me." he said solemly

"I can give that to you. All you have to do is follow my insturctions. Meet me here every full moon and I promise, I'll give you want." he paused "You're brother Vaati is by you. Destroy him!"

Zant nodded and woke up

Vaati sighed "Thank God I was absolutly sure you were dead

Zant laughed "Foolish."

Vaati stood up "How did you get up hear anyways."

"Does it matter?"

"I-I guess not."

Vaati walked over to the edge of the turret "Well grab my hand I'll take you back inside the castle."

Zant smiled. He reached out his hand but instead of taking Vaati's hand he pushed him off. Vaati grabbed onto the edge just in time.

"Are you insane?!"

"Yeah." Zant took out his sword "I AM!" He slashed at Vaati's hands causing him to fall. Vaati looked at the moon which turned him back into a bat. He flew into his room and turned back into a human.

"Whoa!"
