Fear and Pain

Fear and Pain

A Poem by Victor Warui
"

Without fear and pain, man would be living at his maximum. Unfortunately, we live in fear and pain defines us.

"
Nothing is real,
Null is to feel.
Man is supreme,
An independent being.
Born to be fearless,
World taught newer lessons,
Rains of fear is to harness.
Born to be brave,
Then time brought pain,
Scars and the blame.
Man felt real in pain,
Secured by fear to avoid drain.
Man was supreme,
Fear and pain became him.
Afraid of real or reality,
Cowed by his own singularity.
Now man harms man.
Clan against clan.
Seeking pain through fear,
Hurting anything else near.
Forgetting their sovereignty,
Dignity, peace as their identity.
In fear man threatens,
In pain he avengeth.
Man will surely fall.
Man will fall man.

This piece is quite loaded. That, Man is born free, fearless and innocent, but as growth takes place, life uncovers hidden lessons of survival; " then life brought pain, scars and the blame". These lessons addresses; the existence of self- care , less care towards others, man hurting man in fear of being overthrown and on the other hand avenging for being hurt. Forgetting, we were supposed to respect the "sovereignty and dignity" of others and live as one with " peace as our identity", of which is what can preserve mankind.

I hope you'll find this constructive.
