THE HATA Poem by Victor WaruiYou can trust a mongoose with your goose. BUT NOT FOREVER!
Rain! Oh, the rounded droplet,
My cotton hat is sleek and new. I beg! Spare thine harsh torment, And let the wind flow to sooth you. Wind! Oh, you slithering nothing, Stick to thy plain aim, 'n not maim My delicate hat or falling be striking It, hungry awaiting river mouth'll claim. River! Oh you fast flowing deceiver, Unhand off, what's mine and be gone! Be it wet or wrought, the sun'll deliver Healing warmth, before its ocean borne. Ocean! Oh, you vast calm hypocrite, My hat's been delivered in thy bowels Minus consent, let thou soft concrete Heart be lean, concede, above ego shells. Alas! Real sadistic hypocrisy in you resides, Proving a backstabbing friend you've become. Let my tears blur away the sight of thy tides, Tossing mine hat into the sunset beyond time. Until next time, my eyes will remain closed Shut until thy close ally turns arsenal on you. The sun will smile awake, a new leader imposed. The tides! Oh, tides brings back my heart too. © 2018 Victor Warui |
