One day

One day

A Poem by Deadline Jeffrey
"

Been having a lot of night terrors lately so I figured I’d write down what it’s like

"
One day
Two day
Tuesday
Today
One night
Two nights
Death by daylight
Life by night frights
Sleep by nightfall
Bed to small
Or am I too tall
Monsters or coats
Knights and their moats
Scary nights and dream notes
Talks of fears
Faces with tears
Blankets warm
Around your body form
Restraints for him to feed
As you can not prevent the deed
As he slithers by
All you want to do is cry
You can only watch
When you are to become another notch
In his belt of sorrow and despair
He is pale white for nothing does he wear
As he gets nice and close
Teeth by the tip of your nose
A smile so wide
And breath as though something died
His jaw unhinged
And swallows you whole
Your sleep and rest he is robbing
Your chest heaving and bobbing
As the demon of fright
Goes away until the solace of the next night
Sleep comes hard
And sleep comes rare
But the pale faced demon comes as a ward
And all you can do is stare and wait
As he hobbles over with his wicked gait
To torment you in your hour of solitude
He does not speak
But You’d rather he not
For what would come out
Would not be peaceful
He comes and goes as he pleases
And the lure of sleep just teases
For you can be sure
He will be back tonight
The silent demon of the night
