Fantasy

Fantasy

A Poem by Vrishalee J

I live in fantasies,

Fantasies of you and me

I’m being warned “you’ll get stuck’’ they say

But I love to be here anyway

Here, you lead me to things worth galore,

And that makes me love you a little more

But then a bitter realisation strikes with agony,

The truth that it’s no more but a fantasy

Here, you share your dreams, your views,

Not all of them, a little, a few?

For my worth is what it reassures

But don’t I know it’s a pathetic fallacy, and

The truth that it’s no more but a fantasy

Here, you believe in magic too,

The magic of “belief” which makes things true

Believing immunes me to the reality,

The truth that it’s no more but a fantasy

Every time I’m here,

I find reasons to fall for you

Little more reasons of why I love,

The picture of us in a different world

But the real world is where we breathe,

Where you are you and I am me

Not the one across the magical bridge,

Where I wish we both could be.

Yes ,I live in fantasies,

Fantasies of you and me

And as I bid you adieu,

I ask:will they ever be true?
