The lie

The lie

A Poem by Vonnie15
"

Destroyed stone houses with a lie

"

The Lie

I looked into

those windows of yours,

the windows to your heart

Shocked to find it broken.

Once the transgressor,

I did not care;

the memories and insistant instruction pushed down

by selfish will.

Then I looked into your beauty,

Did the unforgivable:

I broke your heart

Destroyed stone houses with a Lie.

Your brokenness seemed petty,

childlike

But, oh, when I looked into those windows

I realised that I had played the vandal;

Your motherly caress of years past

Your unfaltering faith in my spirit:

Broken

I broke you

Such raw emotion.
This was lovely.
Though lacking some structure, the word play and
flow worked well for you.
I think without the structure, this poem works best--- more raw, real.

Lovely write, for sure.

This is a very well expressed piece, and I liked the raw emotion of it.

This really speaks to me ... it is so true to so many people who just never seem to realize the pain that they can cause just with one lie ... on untruthful statement ...anyways it was lovely keep up the great writing!
