Wilted rose of innocence

Wilted rose of innocence

A Poem by Vonnie15
"

Love is beautiful in its innocence, but we choose to destroy its beauty

"

Wilted rose of innocence

Innocence flowers in new Love

Clarity of things clean and bright

The scent of Spring embraces

entwined arms

Love explodes into a rose

full grown and inviting

The sun shines down warmly

on past innocent blossoms

Smiles and laughter of shared secrets

fall to the floor like

crinkley leaves cracked under foot

Only memories of hot Summer days remain

and the rose begins to wilt

Love disappears with the mist

Swept away by frosty winds

Longing for the innocence of Spring

wracks our separate minds

as we wonder through the cold, empty streets of spoilt hearts

Stunning.
This poem was lovely and painted a picture of truth within the readers mind.
Sometimes a lack of innocence in love can be Beautiful.
Well done.

You do a wonderful job of capturing the feelings of love's lost innocence. I like how you used the changing seasons , comparing the " crinkley leaves" of fall to the memory of a summer's love. It's a very good poem, obviously inspired from the heart.
