Our Free Nation

Our Free Nation

A Poem by Vonnie15
"

We have won our freedom, but was it at the cost of our souls?

"

Our Free Nation

Our Nation is free

say what we want

do what we want

lose ourselves in dizzying substances

We are liberated from

all responsibility

all respect

all duty

We don’t owe anyone

not our love

not our devotion

not our loyalty

We are a free Nation

We have become a sick Nation

who mocks our doctor

We have become a broken Nation

who mocks our inventor

We have become a lost Nation

who mocks our tour guide

No other expert

would bear with such a Nation

Yet He keeps on healing

He keeps on fixing

He keeps on finding

But we don’t want this

We keep fighting to be free.

Wow...this is so true...we are becoming waaaay to bent on being free, separated from authority, and we eliminate the One who we should submit to...Ok, so this is my fave too... ;) very nice

I like the message behind this. A sledgehammer driving a needle with extreme subtlety. Well done.
