My choice of ignorance

My choice of ignorance

A Poem by Vonnie15
"

I have chosen to live unaware...

"

My choice of ignorance

Lie to me, please!
Shelter me in your mind cacoon.
I choose to sparkle
in your imaginary sunlight
Instead of fading away
in the shadows of reality.
I choose to have childlike ignorance
We can play and pretend for hours
that the streets are safe at night.
I choose to dance to our
make-believe music,
ignoring the real cries out there.
Shelter me from
the ugliness of this
       fallen world;
I have chosen to live
unaware of Their hurt.

I love love love love this! It has such powerful undertones....my fave so far!!! I like the the idea of being lied to in order for this world to appear as clean and unmolested as it is...very nice!
