I am a Woman

I am a Woman

A Poem by Vonnie15
"

Are you proud of being a woman? They can't hold us down.

"

I am a Woman

I am a fountain

life flowing from within

radiating dignity and majesty.

This safe shelter of my womanhood

brings forth great potential,

begins a new nation

with much possibility.

He has graced me with womanhood

My heart beats through our country;

My country.

I am a Woman

The start of new beginnings

Listen to me

listen to my story

dance in my radiance.

My soul is African

my soul is Woman

Embrace my softness

as I embrace you

learn from my courage,

my dignity in oppression.

This butterfly needs to dance on the stars,

my life skip freely, passionatly

So don’t hold me down

because I am a Woman.
