Locked Away

Locked Away

A Poem by Volges

I can’t seem to break though these scars.

I tried my hardest,

Searched for every exit to escape my heart.

So I stopped and did not focus.

Felt my world dissolve.

I sat down on the world I had left.

Locked inside my heart.

Unable to focus.

Knees held tight to my chest

I am left alone as the rain drops fall

I wanted to feel but there was nothing left

all I could do is fall backwards

rest my head on the damp ground.

Dreaming for the day I will escape this prison called my heart.

I've felt that way before. The heart is so incredibly capable to love, but it seems like its just as capable to hurt its owner. And that is truly sad. Especially when we hurt so badly BECAUSE we love. Beautiful expressions here. :-)
