Hope for Today, Hope for Tomorrow

Hope for Today, Hope for Tomorrow

A Poem by Peter Thomas
"

I hope this gives a little confidence to anybody who needs it. We all can fall but we all can hope too.

"

Hope galvanizing the masses

So much so we try and hold to the rope

Nothing as easy as it seems

Yet nothing so gratifying are our dreams

To mow along, can’t we just sing a song

Many say nope, it seems it’s the fools who hope

Hope for today and tomorrow

Our lives some strong as concrete

Others oft seem to sink in the peat

Sinking and singing, laughing and drinking

Opposites attract, there’s no doubt at that

Too many the way is, that they may rue the day

When we hope for today and tomorrow

Let us gather near, so that we may hear

The voices of despair and doubt among us

Yet never fear that this is what we must adhere

Merely we must confront and face the doubt within us

No never too far, can we stray afar

There is always a net to catch us

Though the day will come

For each and every one of us

When everything falls it seems from above

Crashing down among us

I was told these things, these words with wings

Of comfort and compassion, of calm everlasting

Let not your heart be afraid

Though you may stray

I was told this, these words of bliss

Hold on to that ever strong rope

The hope for today and tomorrow
