Love and Loss

Love and Loss

A Poem by Peter Thomas
"

This is about tenacity and the need to take chances.

"

Often times its what we fear the most

To rebel  and commit to an unknown

We try so hard and all for naught

All it takes it takes is one small thought

Good or bad it takes its toll

Better to have searched and lost

Then to have never searched at all

We think of it as chess

One large board to navigate

What we think and what we feel

Two rivers no closer to a deal

Failure that stark reminder, still

Better to have tried just once

Than to have never tried at all

If what we say is just a lie

A cheap and easy alibi

Nothing I can say will ever change

The way you believe what I am

If its all for not then tell me so

But one things first so you know

If I could not speak to you for a while

It would be the final mile

SO before you say whats the use

Let me say my final piece

All in all we just might fall

We may not ever climb that wall

But don’t you think down in your heart

Loss and Hurt not set in stone

Better to have loved and lost

Then to have never loved at all.

I admire this piece alot. It is better to searched and failed instead of not searching at all. Or even loving and then falling. Really good wording. This will be added to my favorites.
