Well first off i would like to say something deep and meaningful, but will mess it up instantly by saying that i go with the Scandinavian's way of thinking that can be simplified by this...
Someone asks you if you remember before you were born, you reply no and there you have it, death in a nutshell!
Death to me is something that should end with everyone remembering something funny about you and making them smile once more, to which i would like my final thoughts to be that i done not too bad, despite the lack of experience in that thing called life.
If i werent going for the crispy option (cremation) then i would like to borrow my words from tge great Billy Connolly "here lies Lorry, too old to die young!"
I reckon that life is easy. If people remember you with a smile, then you get a pass mark and that's all anyone can really hope for i suppose. Well, that and your death certificate reading...Cause of death... drug fuelled sex heart attack! 😀

That sounds a right as any other idea of "us" as I have ever heard. The Navajo have the opposite point of view, the only thing we leave behind is the evil we have done concentrated into what they call that person's "Chindi." They never speak that man who died's name again for fear of stirring up his spirit.

I like the sound of that Chindi.
I'll have a double portion of that please!
This is aggressive. I love it.
I liked how you connected hunger with aging at the end. But I think people's need to "pass" is part of the grieving process. It's a way of saying, "He's not gone and he can be with us later"
We are afraid of the word death, I like your brave attitude here.
but everyone's process of experiencing grief is different.
When my father died; my aunt said that the reason she talks with me was because she sees her brother in me. I was afraid of this because she was treating me like her dead brother (my father). Treating a living person like a dead person. Afterwards, she told me that she constantly talked to the dead people she lost, and I am someone who cannot even pray at their graves. It is easier for me to accept that they are gone, not for her. It is debatable whether it is healthy or not. But her process.
I admired your attitude and honesty. powerful.

Thank you for your review. And yes everyone grieves differently. I am a realist, it doesn't matter how I look at death or feel, or think, one day I will be dead.

Oh, Baby, you were not ashes the other night! You were fire! And broiling lava! And seething, lightning wisps of fiery trails! That's the night I wrote My Volcano!
THAT's how I want to go! Until I am no longer able to imagine and pretend and turn fantasies into dreams for my lovers, whomever and wherever they may be!
Keep a good conversation with God. Jesus talked to the Father for hours while the disciples were lookouts. WE don't have to do that. I talk to the Lord in my mind "constantly." Asking for forgiveness constantly because I am HUMAN, even a thought can be a sin! God knows that. He made us!
"Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night". . . Good thought provoking piece, though, as always, Darling.

We take ourselves much too seriously, Quantum Physics is 100 years old today, I'm seventy five, I remember the bi-centennial fifty-one years ago like it was yesterday, and like Shakespeare said:
Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.
I love your reviews...

I like the thought and idea put into this poem. Dead is dead. I don’t see it as a finality; I see it as a beginning of a new adventure and a

Once a person acknowledges the existence of a non-physical, spiritual universe as well as the one we walk around in, then ALL things are possible, If the universe is conscious then each person's consciousness is an individual part of that universe. Right now, our consciousness is trapped and limited by the physical one, but it cannot die when the connection is lost.
