Those bloody talking heads talking to us like we're imbeciles.
I remember Billy Connolly doing a bit about them being interupted by the weatger girl, saying "look! This is tge country where you live. And this is a cloud and this is the sun!
Now, back to the growed ups to tell you that a tight fiscal policy isnt anything to do with S-E-X! 😀
The world has changed mate and it goes without saying not for the better. What ever changes for the better these days? Even that s****y spread is called "can you believe its not butter now?" 😀

The circumstances can be so uninspiring but the poeting, now that’s where the magic happens 🙏🏻🕊

You've got me laughing, every poem I write, no matter the subject, depends on my mood. I cannot force it; I cannot write anything meaningful just because I want to. I've met a couple of poet laurates, and they can just sit down and spit out an assignment to honor an event or person. Not me, half the time I start down a patjh, but by the end I've taken half a dozen "roads not taken."

When I was in Nashville, I met a lot of really very good poets, but when I attended Vanderbilt's honorarium for the celebration of Philip Levine's Pulitzer, won while he was on staff there, I met about a dozen well known poet friends of his from New York and around the world. Every one of them wore either a camel colored or Navy sport coat, with opposite slacks, the same Weejun loafers and styled their the same, The each read a few of their own works... Empty suits and empty words, no soul, no fire, but VERY academic. (Except Gerald Stern, whose few wiry strands of hair blossomed from a collection of large purple blotches on his head, and a gorgeous, leggy woman on each arm. He stopped mid poem once, eyeballed the crowd, smiled and said, "THIS IS F*****G GOOD POETRY!")
I live for poetry, Bred, pretty much all of it except the post-modern tripe, and academic skeletal drivel.

Hahahaha! Just avoid eye contact when passing a mirror...
Life so often interferes with life.
Black-eyed Susans....my favorites...they remind me of Vermont.
And you did think of something to write about...and this poem proves that even the most mundane days can turn into a really good poem.

Everything I've ever planted died. I raised some beautiful tomatoes on the vine when we moved into our new house and when I cut into some to make slices for tomato sandwiches, they were hollow and black inside. You always write stuff that makes people think. I love it.

This poem "uninspired" is actually quite thoughtful. It contrasts a serene outdoor scene with the chaos of everyday life, highlighting the disruption that can occur when reality intrudes upon peaceful moments. I think the imagery is strong. nicely done.
