NOTHING IS REAL

NOTHING IS REAL

A Poem by Vol

THERE IS NO REALITY

WITHOUT WORDS

If I jump up and down

what kind of butterfly effect

makes a grain of sand tremble

over there on there opposite side?

Reality

If I jump out of a perfectly good airplane

with the best parachute money can buy

and it experiences an epic failure

All my dreams will be pancakes.

Reality

If I stroll through Strawberry Fields to look

for what we’re talking about and can’t find

the word, vocabulary out the window; No

one else will ever know because no words,

no reality,

nothing.

Visit the strawberry fields before jumping out an aeroplane and that way you not only get to try strawberry pancakes but you get to be them too!
This has a feel of "if a tree falls in a forest and know one is around to say what the f**k was that, did it really fall?
I don't know the answer to that because I had my noise cancelling headphones on, but there's a big tree shaped hole in my roof!

made me think of a story I read recently by Eudora Welty - an aged couple deaf dumb from birth headed to Niagara Falls so they could stand at the edge of the falls and lean against the guard rail because they had learned that if you did you could hear the sound of the falls with your body. It would be the first sound they had ever experienced in their life. Not discounting what you have said, but the two thoughts together just made me wonder. Of course without words how could I consider either - Your piece is very thought provoking - glad I came by - carl

Great contemplation here, Vol. I am pleasantly lost in the reverie.

Writing words forever....that is what we were built to do...thank God, we have words and sometimes create new ones made from old words but fresh thoughts.

Show me some signs. Sign language replaces words. Even iF I can not relay the correct word to you, I can come close enough. How did the Indians and settlers ever learn to communicate? Sign language.

We have to always try. If at first we don't succeed? Try and try again! And again!

I form my two hands together in the shape of a heart. You do it back to me and hold up 2 fingers.

Sometimes reality is what we make it. Even when you know you'll never meet.

If you don't try, it's a sure sign you don't care.
