TEMPORARY SANITYA Poem by VolI sailed a blue-sky road right over the curve and up the frozen curls of rock through black evergreens surfing with white aspen on the way to Eagles Nest and Angel Fire until my cup was so full it spilled over, anointed my head, and I drowned in beauty.
I slurped water from my hand in the creek while that thing inside me was blown away with a bird’s worth of freedom. Horizons in the air atop those cliffs... I soared and dove inside a spinning kaleidoscope. I would live here and thrive until tomorrow and hoped that day would never come.
And you, my lover, nestled down with me in the splash of wildflower days. We lay together until that sweet seduction we call time, tucked us into some bitter winter night where the vast stars waited. © 2024 VolFeatured Review
