CAMEMBERT

CAMEMBERT

A Poem by Vol

I was young, and that’s my

excuse, I just did not know

when I saw the little wheel

of cheese so soft and

creamy on the label.

I thought,

how sophisticated,

how continental,

I‘ll impress myself and

everyone else, besides.”

When Saturday came,

I opened the Chenin Blanc,

broke a crusty loaf,

lit new candles,

and cut the foil…

Next day,

the guy at the store

said “It is supposed to

smell like that!”

but gave my

money back.

All I can say is,

no wonder no one

likes the French.

Pretty hysterical…
No wonder no one likes the French…
Made me laugh out loud….
Been away from reading and reviewing…
Finally posted two new poems…
Miss writing but life takes over….
Funny things we do not know or think we do not like when we are young!!! Then we grow older and find an appreciation for those very things…

Yes, that cheese really stinks....but it tastes so good....one of my favorites. But then, my mother's maiden name was Brule!

Perhaps they should have fortified the Maginot Line with the stuff.
