QUIET BREATH

QUIET BREATH

A Poem by Vol

The clay pot on the ground

near the well holds the breath

of distant stars inside its dark

yet goes unnoticed.

It is cracked and chipped,

but its round shape is

pleasing to the eye, and

has been long cherished,

if little used.

Twice it spilled, once to crack

and once to chip, and is not whole,

but still fulfills its noble purpose,

holding the breath of

distant stars.

I like this Vol, it's peaceful, quiet, gets you to thinking. Got me thinking of mum and how she gradually fell to bits but was ever present, at least mentally, until she wasn't :)

Awww, Gee.... Thank you Gee,
Vol
we have a garden lady doing much the same thing
Her elbow is chipped and her hairline has been altered but she sits quietly, content to endlessly watch what happens in the heavens.
Would that the rest of us be as inoffensive
