POISONA Poem by VolJust another poet, straight, gray ponytail, dangles down her back, gaunt hands make elegant, slow movements while she listens.
She wears soft denim with white buttons to the throat while embroidered red tracery rustles along the neck with each breath exhaled.
Dark, eyes, not quite closed peruse a slow poison as his distant hand traces patterns down her spine and thigh, anyone watching can see her shudder.
Withered dreams fled an eon ago like October monarchs and post-Autumn leaves... he leaves, but it is too late and there is no anti-venom for love’s slow poison. © 2024 Vol |
