PATRICIA ALICE

PATRICIA ALICE

A Poem by Vol

Sometimes at the edge of the pasture,

and under the eaves of trees, the soft

greens of spring slide through my eyes

and paint the curves and shadows of

you to float like the bare-bottomed moon

settling softly into the grass out there

where the sky is sliced from the earth

as clean as if by a razor.

Such delicate imagery, such smooth transition, in combination they crafted a narration where if you are not as attentive as to read them carefully with due diligence that is expected of a reader to a poem, you may miss it. Mesmerising, though the image of a lady though not present momentarily as a concise figure, it still creates a lasting picture of the sentiments, the perception of what is pictured of said lady by the character-in-pov. Quite... relaxing, the ethereal imagery, doting rhythm with jolting passion, all expressed through one short read, yet to be remembered for long. Thank you for sharing your work, author Vol.

In my Tennessee home, I lived in a house where we had cut a shelf in the 30 degree slope. It was probably only three hundred feet from my window to the hill on the other side of our tiny valley. I was inspired over and over by my view across the road at the old roughsawn, oak shack nestled in the trees. Since I move away, my quiet corner is now a major thoroughfare with all kinds of highway traffic breaking the peace.

Almost delicate and flower like a beautiful love poem founded in a secret single memory if I am not mistaken. and I might be. Lovely and petal like.

The bare bottomed moon. An interesting image there. As I think about it, the times when I was mooned did have something to do with bare bottoms. Some of them rather hairy.
