OF COURSE THEY DID

OF COURSE THEY DID

A Poem by Vol

At Stogies,

my beer and tobacco bar,

I hang out with poets, writers,

and good friends.

We bring the stuff we’ve written,

and drink to the health of our muse.

Once we asked a cute blond to tell us

what to write about for the following Friday.

The Scottish play,”

because that’s where she’s from.

We like to use our pens,

but what can you say about

Shakespeare?

It’s been done, and the week is up...

Thursday night, I lay in bed,

dry as Papa’s sense of humor,

when I wondered, after he died

and cursed the bone-movers,

did they let him into heaven?

After all, he invented the

human being, put us in the

Twilight Zone with Macbeth,

gave us mid-summer dreams,

and put eternity on our lips

and in our eyes, but best of all,

he made Falstaff,

our patron saint,

to teach us the art of worship.

very nice. "[Alcohol] provokes the desire, but it takes away the performance." "To thine own self be true." ... :)

William Shakespeare, that one was an utmost charmer. The plays he wrote were captivating, the tragedies he weaved were tantalising, and the stories he told were historic. Such tales go to great lengths to shatter a person's ego and turn their life into another theatrical view after seeing. Such infectious joy, such abundant wordplay to sophisticate a manmade person to their fullest. Thank you for sharing your work, author Vol, Shakespeare would be a joyous fellow to hear the extent of how his legacy shaped lives beyond his timely era.

You were very fortunate to grow up under the influence of such a person.
No doubt, if they wouldn't just let him in, he more than likely would have invented the first ever keys for the pearly gate's lock.
