ECHOS

A Poem by Vol

We left the door open

when we went to bed.

I turned to the dog-ear

where we left off

and read to us until I

couldn't any more,

put the book away

and fell asleep to the radio

under my pillow.

Someone was interviewing an MIT

professor about maintaining

a sense of self in a world

where everyone always

has on... something that is

always on. And I fell asleep until

one of the cats jumped off the

headboard and onto my face.

The Ph.D. was still there,

so I gave up sleep.

Troubled.

Troubled about the time

D. H. Lawrence told me,

"For God's sake, let us be men

not monkeys minding machines

or sitting with our tails curled

while the machine amuses us...

monkeys with a bland grin

on our faces."

Gee
I think schooling should have a set curriculum, that includes for all males, a compulsory 4 hour session of hunting and gathering, (thrice weekly)this to be carried out wearing nothing but tarzans leather pants and armed only with a butter knife, no guns, no phones, no vapes, no cigarettes, no cook books only the in built ability to survive to call upon:))
Don't know how I got to that.
Enjoyed the read Vol

Yup! Let's see how many questions we have for Alexa as she goes full on next phase destruction of those pesky human a*s holes that never shut the hell up telling you what they think.
We have been lulled into a life that can't be lived without them, what with the Internet now powering everything.
Hopefully we can sort out this many headed monster as well as all those niggles that we never got right the first time.
So, let them drill for oil in the Arctic for all I care. They will be playing perfectly into my plan too, to rid humans of machinated help and whip them into shape by treating them like machines.
Part one of my phase of "operation snowflake removal" will be to drill through the ice of the North Pole, with giant hairdryers melting ice away, until we come to hopefully the "forgotton", the earth's forgotten off switch, where we can just switch ourselves off and on again and everything will be happy ever after.... Or, the reset button has been replaced by a note that says "thanks for all the fish" and only then will we know how screwed we are and we will all die knowing that the answer is true and we knew it all along.... It is 42 and that I'd exactly how many chances we had to get it right, so it's entirely out own fault that we have moaned out way into existence and it's now the horses turn to be in charge of this mess and I can go change into my pj's and slippers and unlock the door for the grim reapers arrival! 😊

We all matter... until we multiply ourselves by the speed of light squared, then we're energy...
