So,
I was thinking,
probably my first mistake,
about one of
those stupid
questions that keep popping
up, but which do
nothing to
put food on the table.
What if I never
die?
What if I never lived?
What if I am some kind
of
consciousness bubble with
nothing but time on
my...uh,
imaginary hands?
What if I am just this
thought
pocket of imagination floating
around in my
imaginary home
making everything up so I don’t
die of
boredom?
If so, I must surely be insane
and need to
imagine a personal
helper named...err, Freud
to bring me
back down to
this place I’ll call... um,
the
Earth.
Okay, that didn’t work out
so well, he kept
wanting me
to remember my “mom.”
whatever that
was…
I’ve been doing this so long,
it seems like
an eternity…
one more concept I don’t have
any time
for.
Lol, At first I thought there was going to be "Mr. Postman" involved.
"Stayin alive" is an interesting concept that seems to be pointless because we just end up dying, which with the gazillions of things which plague the human concept, is too often a relief
if you figure it all out, maybe you can write a book???

As I said to Ken,
I gave up on philosophy a long time ago. I came to the conclusion that philosophers were just guys who wrote their thoughts down and gave them a name. In the end, no matter how much you read of them, nothing really changes. I get tired, so I sleep, I get hungry, so I eat; I watch TV and braincells die; I get bored and philosophize, I get horny, and... It's a daily treadmill whose only reward is finding a little beauty to give me pause. I'm still gonna die, and some years later, no one will ever say my name again.
Ahh the paradox of living. Incidentally I think you would get more sense out of Jung on these questions. But then if you are not real who am I speaking to? Oh God you are not an AI are you?
Of course as Philip K Dick said. 'Reality is that when you stop believing in it, it doesn't go away'. And Kierkegaard said Life is not a problem to be solved but a reality to be experienced. And according to Eric Idle Rene Decartes was a drunken fart I drink therefore I am.So taking it all into account I think, that if I exist I should just go with it. For the hell of it.
Note: Except I don't drink.

Another gem Vol. Like many others what if we are just part of someone’s imagination, a character in a book, pure fantasy I know but what an idea.

We used to talk about the nature of reality back in the sixties... We came up with the truth, unfortunately, we were high most of the time and no one remembers... it wasn't 42, though...

A consciousness bubble is something we often think of. What are we? Nice thought here, Vol.

But if you're not real Vol, doesn't that lead to your very existence ending with two things happening... One, as your sanity finally cracks, you get a sight of yourself reflected off a Christmas tree bauble, because reflecting in a mirror would just be too lazy, which zooms in, which is when the second thing happens, just as you are recycled into another non exist ant existence, the theme tune of funeral March of the marionettes starts to play (theme for Alfred HITCHCOCK presents) and then the credits roll, as your demise.... Err, demises! 😊
Hey, but at least Vol, you would have been the episode that won Hitch his emmy! 😊

I recall thinking when young that life was way too short, but when the reaper shows his face, he will find me in neatly pressed pyjamas (and hopefully they shall be a penguin onesie, just to see if the morbid git cracks a smile), with my slippers on and waiting patiently to follow him to the big sleep, where history and time will one day merge into making my existence seem like an expert case study which will change my label to mostly dead! 😊

But,..... Maybe not. Ill just call it indecipherable names under my breath until it buggers off again! 😊
Your poem made me laugh, ‘I was thinking, probably my first mistake’ it’s funny how we can make ourselves crazy by overthinking everything! At least that’s true for me.

No matter whose ideas I read, they did not seem to go anywhere in the long run. It's like they would think something, then give it a name, and get famous for talking about all the time.
