NOT A CHANCE

NOT A CHANCE

A Poem by Vol

The night’s dark eyes smile

at what is left of me, you...

stealing bits and pieces of who

I am with small nips that hurt

for the hunger there, knowing

tomorrow’s harsh sun will not

be enough to see us through

a night in our cold, cold bed.

But, ah! The touch of Zephyrus

with his sweet breath to scoot

across your breast from that

window you insist stay open...

so desire, with a white cane and

sensual ears, might hear our moans

and come home again.

There's a certain hunger within the words of this poem, which feels strung together with care, thread by thread, creating a powerful yet loving creation. There's layers to this piece that even I have to admit I may be missing.

Zephyrus, to describe the scene is such a powerful act of poetry. I had to look them up, and the more I look at their mythology, the more it sets the scene for the poetry.

Well done with this wonderful creation, Vol.

There were nights I could have used some of those Zephyrus. I know they're more than just friendly. :)

Relic,
Not necessarily a qualifier...
Zephyrus, the west wind of mythology, was associated with procreation, so I understand. Well, I am not interested in procreation, but what goes before it. Tempts one to leave the windows open every now and then.
