I DON'T OWN A WATCH

I DON'T OWN A WATCH

A Poem by Vol

If there is such a thing as

time, I have often thought

it must be like a book,

every page an infinitely thin

slice of eternity, static, whole,

and a sparkling miasma of

light and beauty.

I can’t read what is written,

there, I can only pick up where

I left off, the next page so

close to this one, I fly like an

arrow, smooth and flickerless

because the sparkling miasma of

me gets lost in its perfect order.

I once owned five watches and then I just put them back in their box to be future antiques for someone who doesn't deserve them.
Apart from meeting people at the correct position of time and place, I really don't feel the need to be as up to the minute as everyone thinks they care about and instead I'll get there when I get there and moaning that I'm late might excite you, but it doesn't get me there any quicker!
Do you ever notice how the most fastidious of time keepers always look like they are a too tightly wound jack in the box, ready to pop! And it's all there again the next morning, to make you rush more, right into that heart attack or thrombosis that you will find, doesn't request a time that suits you, so why not just chill and blow in the wind instead.
Ps.... We are expecting 80 mph winds today, so if I point myself the right way, I'll see you behind the bar tonight, as I blown in for an IPA or nine! 😊
