But the ale was cold and delicious

at the table where we talked.

He said there is a difference

between writing and the other arts,

unlike physical objects, a block of marble,

a canvas and paint, or buildings.

What are words, anyway?

Fleeting evidence of fired neurons,

an imposition of order on chaos.

That night I dreamed of the scrawl

on his yellow pad… A bubble

Writing, I believe, is penning down the existence of life, redefining fate, and coloring the world in our vision. In writing, words - are precious, poems - are even more precious, and understanding - is invaluable. One should write as naturally as they draw breaths, then - you are a writer; Though many have already done that, most never paid attention to it.

I think about words a lot, Richard. They are of two kinds, vibrations of the air, or squiggly lines on paper. Both are the evidence of whatever meaning the universe may contain. The atoms that compose the things that are alive and the things that are not are exactly the same... is there any meaning there? Consciousness has no physical representation, and is the realm of whatever meaning exists at all. And when I think about all that, I do it with words...

Exactly because of what you've said of atoms, all things are alive and conscious of themselves, each in their own ways, or they could not exist and maintain the form they're in.
