A poem by Carol Ann Duffy I just found for the first time... Thought I'd share...
A Carol ann Duffy Poem... no title available...
You sat on your desk, swinging your legs, reading a poem by Yeats to the bored girls, except my heart stumbled and blushed as it fell in love with the words and I saw the tree in the scratched old desk under my hands, heard the bird in the oak outside scribble itself on the air.[8]
duffy is one of those blessed in the womb. an astonishing poet from a young age. the one you list here was apparently composed for a teacher who died when she was 13 yrs old. Scotland's poet laureate a decade or so back, she inspired many. My favorite work is The Light Gatherer, from the Feminine Gospels, but I also own and very much still peruse her collection The World's Wife. Both highly reccomended
This is quite simply the bees knees. Superb and every other supurlative I can come up with. The connections are there for those who know. The beauty of the words are simply stunning. And she has the same birthday as me. You didn't know you didn't know that did you?

Quite a gift this poem is...thanks, Vol.
I also think Plath would have loved it, since she lived and died in Yeats' house and was
so thrilled to live there.
Sounds like Mr. Yeats or the reader made the speaker get in touch with nature. I wonder if those swinging legs had anything to do with it.
