HOWL

HOWL

A Poem by Vol

What if Carl Sagan

was right and there is

no time, that everything

happens at once?

I was born right now

I died, right now, or

didn't

in a multitude of

universes

that begin with

what if

and end in

never.

In this one, Christ

got nailed to a tree,

in the one next door,

Mohamed kept both

feet on the ground,

and on the other side,

Gautama learned

something, instead of

nothing.

Thirty feet up,

Bosco, our deaf cat,

has been stuck

in the Elm for five

days now.

He howls when

he sees us, but

in this continuum,

there is nothing

we can do.

Well, at least that would be one explanation of that pesky déjà vu!
I also don't mind that if that is the case, then which one of all the me's made the decisions that affected Overy other one of me's rest of our/my life's?
But then again, at least it would explain that pesky déjà vu! 😊

This is a grand poem. Smart, tart, and whimsical. And the touch of Bosco makes it purr fectly magical. The image of a deaf cat up a tree howling made my day

Time has no time, Vol.. it's there to bewilder those who waste it and/or those without any interest in anything other than what's for dinner! Whilst HG Wells and those before him.. and of course the known Sagan..Time eludes even thinkers. Please enlighten me when you discover more. Your words always nudge thought - must quickly say - if i have time before you disappear into another age. Fine language, sir.

The concept of time always fascinates me, and love how you express it in your poem!
