FUBAB

FUBAB

A Poem by Vol

A wind picks up one

grain of sand at a time

to throw over the top

of a dune where we buried

all the old gods.

In that mass grave their,

bodies burn red hot.

From my perspective, here

in Tennessee, the aroma of

coffee and cigarettes establish

a place where I know I have no

time to wait for their resurrection

in yet another Renaissance.

Right Vol, I have a question....
Is the title just a misspelling, because it almost looks like another Americanism that took off big style over here. In fact, I remember in the 80's being in a nightclub called Fubar, which stood for F****d Up Beyond All Repair, which we all thought was a challenge and not just the name of the place. 😊
I've been trying to think what the second B could stand for, but maybe if I stick my head in the sand to reenact the feeling of being buried alive, I'll find my answer.... Argh.... FUBABBBBBB! 😳⚰️☠️
Or I could have looked it up first, before all that sand ran into my mouth and wouldhave been far easier and logical to learn I was on the right track and the second B is for belief. I had an Ahh moment when I read that, but I was too busy trying to blow sand out my nose 😊

Ain't that the truth!
Indeed Vol "a place where I know I have no

time to wait for their resurrection

in yet another Renaissance" I like that a lot, and such a concise ending. Very good. I'm going to re-read this one.
