EVENT HORIZON

EVENT HORIZON

A Poem by Vol

Fireflies illuminate memories

in my dream forest, perfume

on your shoulders in a

strobelight fantasy.

I turn, and there you are,

a Nightbird with dark feathers,

lightening on your breast,

I am captured in the curved

thorns of those pink roses that

look over the virtual swale of us.

Over there, a soft shadow on

the crest of our knoll, you

flash a  sunrise with your smile

and I go in without caution.

A firefly meteor in your

open arms the way gravity

captures time forever

across our event horizon.

Your poem is a beautiful and evocative exploration of memory, desire, and the power of nature to capture our imaginations. The opening lines, "Fireflies illuminate memories / in my dream forest, perfume / on your shoulders in a / strobelight dream," set a dreamy and romantic tone, drawing the reader into a world of vivid imagery and sensory detail.

The metaphor of the Nightbird with dark feathers, lightening on your breast, is both mysterious and alluring, and the image of the pink roses looking over the virtual swale of us creates a sense of atmosphere and mood. The way you describe being captured in the curved thorns of those roses is both beautiful and dangerous, suggesting that love is both a source of beauty and a source of pain.
The final lines of the poem, "A firefly meteor in your / open arms the way gravity / captures time forever / across our event horizon," are both romantic and cosmic, suggesting that the love between the two people in the poem is both timeless and infinite. Overall, your poem is a beautiful and complex exploration of love, memory, and the natural world, and I appreciate the way it uses vivid imagery and sensory detail to draw the reader into its dreamy world.

I don't know how you do it, but you certainly finesse the hell out of me! Thank you for the beauty and imagery you manifest so brilliantly for us to enjoy. Truly, a pleasure!
