DOOR

DOOR

A Poem by Vol

There is a door

that opens just for me

it gives no hint of the bright

red dragon on the other side

her heart pumping an incessant

thrum and everything hums.

Her names are many,

My lover’s touch is one;

Chaucer, Tolkein,

not to mention

Hendrix, Dylan,

The Friends of My Youth.

When I visit her, I dance with

Wild Abandon, my favorite

of her names

swaying to the music

of all my life

Until she lies

exhausted in the corner.

And outside the clouds drift

lazily away from the shapes

we gave them.

Seems the unknown one behind the door is the one that sets every emotion going because of her many guises. That said, with or without you, she spins your thoughts while playing her own game. Perhaps? Your words conjur thoughts galore!

There's much to be said about doors and what can or cannot lie behind them. You've stoked my imagination though, by including four of my faves ...Chaucer (Yup), Tolkein (uh huh) and of course Jimi (actually saw thrice) and Bob who I've seen more times than I can count. But enough about me ... your words were vibrant and imagery was tantalizing. Keep on keeping on, Vol.

there is someone I still sway with in my dreams...that door opens sometimes to regrets, but other times just a gratitude to have danced with her.
