BIG CITY, LITTLE TALEA Poem by VolI lounged in a chair by the bar finding a perverted peace in a collection of Flannery O'Conner's evil point of view when three newbies bounced in and ordered drinks.
The leggy blond in white shorts and pumps scanned the room and slid her hand in her pocket. A look of dismay, and, "What’s this? Oh no! I’ve washed my shorts with gum in the pocket!” I caught her eye and said, “Been there, done that.”
She grinned at me and poked a finger down the vee of her blouse, said, “Once I kept my Altoids right here. When I got home, and took off all my clothes, I had breath mints all over my b***s!”
She grinned again and walked to a table in the corner, creating a Patchouli breeze to punctuat this sudden desire to write just like Flannery. © 2023 VolAuthor's Note
