GHOST

GHOST

A Poem by Vol
"

I'm not sure I'm happy with the title, open to suggestions...

"

I wish you had come over

like you said you would.

The bourbon was smooth

with a caramel finish,

and the Delta eight a sweet

icing on the cake. At times like

these, everything melts like a

Dali pocket watch.

That fat couch in the quiet room

with the books and music needed

something. A spark of red like the

dress you wore when we met on

the sidewalk and shared my

umbrella this afternoon. I chilled

a bottle of Merlot, but not to worry,

another time, maybe.

I feel like New Mexico. There are

hidden places to take your breath,

give your eyes a beauty bath.

Little towns in the mountains where

artists mine media from the rocks

and do things with clay. Like that

pottery woman who sculpts first,

then shoots it with her thirty thirty.

Exit wounds curled out like flower

petals. Fired in bright colors.

You should have come over,

we could have made plans.

Not fair you layer some of my old favourite things. Except it would be a 20 yr old single malt and I don't drink anymore. Travel is another thing I love to do and various places in the rockies are again my favourites. I absolutely love having just one person around. Someone I can talk to and enjoy the spirit of. So now I feel your disappointment which is exactly what you intended. So not fair that I read this finely crafted poem.

There is disappointment, and there is hope. While I feel a touch of sadness, it does not override the beauty of the promise to be. Well penned.

The bourbon was smooth with a caramel finish! Now, don't tell anyone or they might revoke my Scottish Ness, but that sounds delightful.
And the Dali pocket watch made me smile. ***warning... Boring fact alert *** Dali's painting "Christ of St John on the cross was bought by the curator of Kelvin Grove art gallery in the 70's for their entire annual budget of £70,000 (about a hundred grand in dollars at the time) there was outrage and calls for him to be sacked.
Today it is the number one exhibit and officially classed as priceless. I bet he's still smirking over that one
And as for fat couches, we'll they always look better with red dresses sprawling over them, don't they?
And now I wanna visit New Mexico too now! I might need to wait until I get my breath back until they can take it again, but sounds like it would be worth it.
You should write for lonely planet guide books or other travel books Vol. Your words would bring them to life.

I have no idea either, but I could have a good guess at it!
Chances Are

Excellent poem, the way you weave in the chance meeting. Drizzle in a touch of color. Dressing the poem in hope. Then the ending.
