Sounds good to me. I'd quite like that too, but of course it would be called something like sphlintlokka, which is made up Swedish for homestead er flat pack and would be delivered and built in three hours by two vikings you would need to lock up any daughters, grandkids or gullible animals from.
And you know if they were a success, version 2.0 would come with 5G Internet access and one of those fridges that when you were down to your last four beers, would deliver another case without you having to lay a finger.
By version 5.0 they would come with handy bots, to clean and tend the garden for you and of course a turn down service... Just pray you're not in the bed when they decide to rebel though or you'll end up going through the wall and resembling freshly poured waffle mix. 😊

You are demonstrably correct. Armed with an IKEA cottage kit, in just a few years, I'd have resigned myself to looking at the directions, and wondering why I'd sawed the main beam in two because it didn't fit where I thought it should.
But that's not me... I'd buy some lumber and plywood, enough nails, and make it up as I went along. I'm too old to worry about encroachment, I'd be dead before they caught up with me... I'm at least half Viking, anyway.
On the other hand, I'm a lazy b*****d, and prefer to lay about and think how pleasant isolated cottage life might be, rather than actually going to all that trouble in the first place. ..
In reality, I DO, in fact, live in "Gouge Eye." Texas, thirty-five miles from where I go to spend money. Nobody in their right mind wants to live here, sans trees and splashy creeks, so. it's all okay.
If I had one wish, however, I would want to be Tom Bombadil living with Goldberry, deep in a dense forest where I ruled supreme.
And Sir, I hope you stay warm and dry today with something pleasant to drink and good things to think about.

That is what women fail to understand, that it all makes sense to us at the time. How else would it fit in the van if I didn't saw it to fit? And yes, I did encroach a few feet on Mrs neighbours vegetable garden, but her pumpkin soup gave me the squits, so that makes us about even!
And I like your thinking that not being around for the consequences makes it more probable you'll have someone there at the end to Bury you! 😊
Hmmm
this is all that came through...
Many thanks Vol.
