CACHEA Poem by VolThe bag contains $26.95 of life. Wild birdseed I buy very autumn against a snowy winter and pour into a big plastic bucket out on the porch near the feeder, a covered, plywood platform I mounted between two persimmons outside my kitchen window. I watch the bright cardinals flutter away from the bully blue jays like fat politicians who make everyone move aside, so they get the best bits while everyone else watches impatiently from branches a few feet away. The nuthatches hop head down, chickadees bounce from limb to limb
