BORROWED TIME

BORROWED TIME

A Poem by Vol

There sure are a lot of us!

We said so in the sixties,

called ourselves a “population

EXPLOSION!” (3.5 billion)

Knew way back then there wasn’t

enough of anything to go around.

But now (7.7 billion) we can’t

worry about that, ‘cause inside our

virtual walls, we’re all we’ve got.

You and your sick mama,

who keeps you so busy you can’t

even think about yourself, much less

THE WHOLE DAMN WORLD!

And who cares? By the time the

s**t hits the fan for one last fling,

we’ll be dead anyway, or dying,

or wishing we were.

Excellent. A really important and righteous rant. This is the truth in poetic form. As we used to say Right On Brother.

Alas, we baby boomers have all grown up.

Not enough hours in the day for some, and not enough daze in the hours for others.
The unpaid carers of the world give up luxuries like time and commit to caring while the rest of the world forgets, while this new fangled generation(s) worry about what to tweet and likes and taking thirty more photos of their vapid selves and the compulsory pic of the lunch or coffee they didn't have the brains to make themselves!
I'll stop there as its too early to grumble and I must save all my anxiety for todays possible title decider between our oldest rivals.... (Soccer to you guys) 😊
Its important to spend all my angst during these games. Gets it out my system 😊
Ps we are 9 points ahead with 8 games left on our way to winning our eleventh league in twelve years, hopefully.
COME ON THE CELTIC!!! 🍀 😊
