First read of yours and I did actually read it. Worked hard to make sense of your words... and in the end it did not matter as I liked it anyway...
That is what is so interesting about poems... Just what one makes of them.

Very creative, I like how this is constructed. It feels solid though its storyline lends a fancy design to the thoughts I find. The sun, friend or foe...at times a much welcome companion and other a destructive fiend that scorches everything it lights. Really cool Vol.

I live in a ghost town 3 miles square and have to drive 35 miles to spend money... My house is on the old Rt. 66, 60 miles east of Amarillo. There are about 20 people left here, including Lisa and me... I think I've met five of them, and two of those died. It is ironic, because I am gregarious as hell, but somehow, have come to enjoy the isolation. I miss Nashville, where my house was still isolated, with no neighbors to speak of. On Fridays, I knew a little cigar bar where I could spend the evening with jovial, sometimes meaningful conversatrion, and once a month hit a poetry open mic I'm pretty much alone, here, even with Lisa... she works in Amarillo, leaves before I get up and comes home about 90 minutes before she goes to bed... Our back and forth, tells me you'd be a good table mate with a little ale, glass of wine, or cup of coffee... to talk of poetry and the absurdity of... well... you know, EVERYTHING.
If It isn't too personal what part of the world do you call home?

I've done some of route 66 and being a rebel without a clue, I done the first two parts in the east one tear and two years later done the last two, which would probably been around your neck of the woods.
It's shocking what they done to a national treasure in route 66. Promised them everything and delivered nothing, not even street signs to let people know it was there.
I reckon those who made those changes should be made to live there... With shock collars on, just in case they try to escape.
It's not just every Americans right, but every tourists too, to get their kicks on route 66. Dagnabbit! 😊

I just traveled by google-earth to Inverness-Shire. It looks like a pretty big town, so I assume you live outside the bustle and in the beautiful countryside. It looks enough like Tennessee that you pick someone up near you and drop them in Tn, and they wouldn't know the difference. Where I lived was a mere 35 miles to Nashville, so I had access to all the amenities of a large metropolitan area, but live in a quiet corner full of trees and hills. If you left I-40 in America, and tiptoed down the little remaining bits of 66, you probably drove right in front of my house... I am about 45 miles west of Oklahoma. And it is typical of American progress to ignore beauty in the name of NEW.

You should take a look at the NC500 (North coast 500) which is our puny equivelsnt of your own route 66. We started on it today from East to west and it is often found on the trop of lists of drives and scenery.
It is always different, but breathtakingly beautiful.
The clouds, sun and whatever weather wind the battle for the next ten minutes are spectacular to behold.
We've done this route a few times now and today was the first time I saw it with the sun out. It didn't look anywhere near as dark and broody as before.
Amongst the usual tourist stops of pubs and restaurants, sometimes you are transported back decades to ice cream parlours and cafe's that still do it how they always did.
I've been told if I'm good tomorrow I might even get a hot fudge sundae or knickerbocker glory... But only if I'm good.

Long covisld done some damage to my intestines and left lung, but decided to leave the right one alone. Now I can't even handle anything carbonated or even tap water. We put chlorine and fluoride in our water and even the trace amounts make my gut sound like it's a volcano about to blow.
There's nothing even remotely macho about it. It might be on the extreme end of the spectrum, but at the end of the day, it's still borborgamil, which you probably remember from childhood as.... A rumbly tummy!
Even explaining that is shameful 😊
